Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, is a renowned historical and cultural city in China. Situated in the central Yangtze River Delta region, Suzhou has long been called "Paradise on Earth" due to its mild climate, fertile soil, and abundant resources.
Suzhou is also a city of gardens. Suzhou's classical parks and gardens, treasures of world culture and art, embody the most valuable elements of Eastern garden art. More than 60 classical parks and gardens are well-preserved in the city. Zhuozhengyuan and Liuyuan Gardens are among the four most famous gardens in China. Nine Suzhou garden complexes, including Zhuozhengyuan, Liuyuan, Wanshiyuan, Shizilin, Yipu, and Ouyuan Gardens, are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
