SANTIAGO, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) — Chilean President Gabriel Boric declared a state of emergency on Sunday in the regions of Nuble and Bio Bio after wildfires killed at least 16 people.
"Given the serious fires that are currently ongoing, I have decided to declare a state of emergency in the Newble and Bio-Bio areas. All resources are available," G. Boric wrote on social media.
