MANILA, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) — More bodies were recovered from rubble and piles of metal at the site of a building collapse in Cebu City in the central Philippines, bringing the death toll to 35, the city's Fire Protection Bureau said Saturday.

According to authorities, the search continues for the sole worker, who remains missing.

The victims were among workers trapped inside the building after part of the landfill collapsed and destroyed the structure on January 8.

“Search and rescue operations and body recovery efforts are ongoing, with rescue teams working at the scene,” the bureau reported on social media.

Cebu City officials said 18 people were rescued at the scene, all of whom were injured. –0–
