Washington, January 15 (Xinhua) — U.S. President Donald Trump is considering all possible options for responding to the unrest in Iran, White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt said on Thursday.
"The president and his team are closely monitoring the evolving situation, and all options remain under the president's consideration," the press secretary said at a briefing, warning of "serious consequences" if the killings in Iran continue.
Citing a senior US official, the New York Times reported on Thursday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a conversation with Donald Trump on Wednesday, asked the White House to postpone any US military attack on Iran, which Trump had reportedly been considering for several days.
