Moscow, January 16 (Xinhua) — Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the situation in the Middle East and Iran with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by telephone, the Kremlin press service reported.
"Vladimir Putin outlined fundamental approaches in favor of intensifying political and diplomatic efforts to ensure stability and security in the region. Russia's readiness to continue to undertake appropriate mediation efforts and to facilitate constructive dialogue involving all interested states was confirmed," the statement reads.
