BEIJING, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) — State Council Taiwan Affairs Office spokesperson Zhu Fenglian reiterated Wednesday that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China and the Taiwan question is purely China's internal affairs.
Zhu Fenglian made the statement at a press conference in response to a media inquiry regarding recent comments by US media about the US attack on Venezuela and the violent capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, as well as the implications of these actions for Taiwan.
Zhu Fenglian emphasized that the resolution of the Taiwan issue is a personal matter for the Chinese people and a just matter for protecting national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
"Outsiders are unreliable," Zhu Fenglian said, noting that the Democratic Progressive Party administration's attempts to achieve "Taiwan independence" by relying on external forces will only turn it into useless tools of external forces.
