Almaty, January 14 (Xinhua) — Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy has confirmed incidents that occurred on January 13 in the Black Sea near the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) marine terminal involving two vessels transporting Kazakh export oil. This was reported on Tuesday by the Kazinform news agency.

"The Maltese-flagged tanker Matilda, chartered by a subsidiary of the national company KazMunayGas (KMG), was attacked by a drone. An explosion without subsequent fire was detected on board. There were no casualties or injuries among the crew," the ministry reported.

The Liberian-flagged Delta Harmony tanker was also attacked by a drone while awaiting loading. "The incident resulted in a fire, which was quickly extinguished. There were no injuries among the crew. According to the task force, the vessel had not yet been loaded with oil at the time of the incident, and its cargo tanks were empty," the Ministry of Energy stated.

It is noted that negotiations are currently underway to ensure the security of logistics chains and the uninterrupted flow of export supplies.

As a reminder, KMG also previously commented on the incident with the Matilda tanker. –0–
