BEIJING, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) — Chinese authorities on Friday announced changes to the terms of export tax refunds on a range of goods, including photovoltaic and battery products.
According to a statement released jointly by the Ministry of Finance and the General Administration of Taxation, VAT refunds on photovoltaic product exports will be abolished from April 1, 2026.
Meanwhile, according to the notice, the VAT refund rate for the export of battery goods will be reduced from 9 to 6 percent in the period from April 1 to December 31, 2026, and will also be completely abolished starting January 1, 2027.
This move was welcomed by domestic manufacturers. The China Photovoltaic Industry Association stated that this measure would help restore rational pricing in foreign markets and reduce the risk of trade friction for China.
According to the organization, in the long term, this measure will help curb excessive declines in export prices and reduce the likelihood of trade disputes. -0-
