BEIJING, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) — China's Ministry of Commerce on Thursday commented on the investigation into Meta's acquisition of artificial intelligence platform Manus, noting that enterprises investing overseas are required to comply with Chinese laws and regulations.
Ministry spokesperson He Yadong said at a press briefing that the Chinese government always supports enterprises in conducting mutually beneficial transnational transactions and international technological cooperation in accordance with laws and regulations.
The representative emphasized that enterprises engaged in overseas investment, technology export, cross-border data transfer, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, and other activities are required to comply with Chinese laws and regulations and follow legal procedures.
