BEIJING, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) — Dividing spheres of influence and creating geopolitical confrontation will in no way make the country more secure, much less bring peace to the world, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Wednesday.
The Chinese diplomat made the statement at a regular departmental press conference, responding to a question regarding US Secretary of State Marco Rubio's recent statement that "this is our hemisphere, and President /Donald/ Trump will not allow our security to be threatened."
