BEIJING, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) — Venezuela is a sovereign state with full and permanent sovereignty over its natural resources and all economic activities within its territory, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Wednesday.
The legitimate rights and interests of China and other countries in Venezuela must be protected, Mao Ning emphasized.
She said China strongly condemned the United States' military action against Venezuela and demanded that Venezuela adhere to the "America First" principle when managing its oil resources.
This move by the US, a typical act of bullying, grossly violates international law, seriously infringes on Venezuela's sovereignty, and harms the rights of the Venezuelan people, the Chinese diplomat noted at a regular departmental press conference.
