BEIJING, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) — China's postal industry is expected to handle 216.5 billion pieces of mail by 2025, up 11.5 percent year-on-year, according to data released Wednesday at the National Conference on Postal Work in 2026.

In particular, the volume of shipments in the express delivery sector amounted to 199 billion units, which is 13.7 percent more than in 2024.

Zhao Chongju, Director General of the State Postal Administration of the People's Republic of China, announced at a meeting that the operating revenue of China's postal industry in 2025 will reach 1.8 trillion yuan (approximately $256.5 billion), an increase of 6.4 percent year-on-year. In particular, revenue from the express delivery sector increased by 6.5 percent to 1.5 trillion yuan.
