BEIJING, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) — Ereenhot, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, recorded a record volume of trade between residents of border areas of China and Mongolia in 2025, according to a statement posted on the official website of the Ereenhot city government.
Last year, the above-mentioned figure amounted to 27,200 tons in quantitative terms and 823 million yuan (about 117 million US dollars) in value terms, which was 235.8 percent and 54.12 percent higher, respectively, compared to 2024.
Currently, the goods exported and imported through this type of trade include frozen horse meat, wool sweaters and trousers, Mongolian robes, cashmere and carpets, which not only satisfy Chinese consumers' demand for foreign-specific goods, but also fully reflect the national characteristics of border trade and its importance in meeting the vital needs of the population.
As the main trading platform at the largest land port on the Sino-Mongolian border, the Ereenhot Border Residents' Trade Zone has utilized its geographical advantages to continuously promote the direct processing of imported goods in the border areas, thereby enhancing both the scale and efficiency of such trade. -0-
