With the arrival of the annual Dong New Year festival, the Dong ethnic village of Zhaoxing, located in Liping County in the mountainous region of southeastern Guizhou Province, welcomes tourists from all over China. This ancient village nestled deep in the mountains becomes even more lively.
In recent years, Zhaoxing village, capitalizing on its tourist attractions, has been developing Dong choral groups, hosting cultural performances, bonfire evenings, and other events. Through rental retail spaces, artistic performances, restaurant businesses, and other activities, the village is steadily strengthening its local collective economy.
Currently, Zhaoxing has established more than 60 traditional craft enterprises, and more than 400 hotels, guesthouses and restaurants, providing employment and business opportunities for more than 2,000 residents.
Local authorities, focusing on cultural and tourism resources, hold a series of events such as national festivals and major competitions, creating unique cultural and tourism projects and injecting new vitality into the revival of villages.
