Kyiv, January 5 (Xinhua) — The head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Vasyl Malyuk, announced on Monday that he is leaving his post. The agency's press service reported this on Telegram.
V. Malyuk did not state the reason for his resignation, but noted that he would remain in the "SBU system" to conduct "world-class asymmetric special operations" against Russia.
Later on Monday, a decree was published on the Ukrainian president's website appointing Yevhen Khmara, head of the SBU's Special Operations Center "A," as acting head of the SBU.
