BEIJING, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) — At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, South Korean President Lee Jae-myung arrived in Beijing on Sunday, beginning a state visit to China that will last from Jan. 4 to 7.
This is Lee Zhe-myung's first visit to China since taking office as president. As stated by a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, China and the Republic of Korea are important close neighbors and cooperative partners. Under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, this visit is expected to play an active role in promoting the further development of bilateral strategic cooperation and partnership.
