BEIJING, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) — China's low-altitude equipment manufacturing sector expanded steadily during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), with the average annual growth rate of its industrial output remaining at over 10 percent, data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology showed Sunday.

The agency's data showed that as of December 30, 2025, a total of 1,081 enterprises in this sector had completed registration, while more than 5.29 million units of 3,623 types of products of this kind had been registered.

During the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030), China will continue to accelerate technological innovation in the low-altitude equipment sector, strengthen the safety foundation, continuously improve the industrial standard system, and promote the innovative application of low-altitude equipment according to local conditions, the ministry said.

As stated at a ministry conference held in December 2025, efforts will be made to develop key emerging industries, including low-altitude economics, integrated circuits, new display technologies, new materials, aerospace, and biomedicine.

According to forecasts from the Civil Aviation Administration of China, the value of China's low-altitude economy market will exceed 3.5 trillion yuan (approximately US$498 billion) by 2035. -0-
