BEIJING, January 3 (Xinhua) — At the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang, Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin will pay an official visit to China from January 4 to 8.
M. Martin was born in 1960 in Cork, Ireland. He graduated from the National University of Ireland in Cork. He has held a number of government posts, including Minister of Education, Minister of Health, Minister of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, and Minister of Foreign Affairs. Since 2011, he has been the leader of the Fianna Fóil party.
He assumed office as Prime Minister of Ireland in June 2020 and became Deputy Prime Minister of Ireland in December 2022. He resumed his leadership of the Irish government in January 2025. –0–
