BEIJING, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) — At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, President of the Republic of Korea (ROK) Lee Jae-myung will pay a state visit to China from Jan. 4 to 7.
Lee Jae-myung was born in December 1964. Since 2010, he has served successively as mayor of Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province and as governor of that province.
Since 2022, he has been twice elected as a deputy of the National Assembly of the Republic of Kazakhstan from the Toburo Democratic Party and served as its chairman.
Lee Jae-myung took office as President of the Republic of Korea in June 2025.
Married to Kim Hye Kyung, he has two sons.
This will be the first state visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to China since his inauguration. –0–
