Vladivostok, January 2 (Xinhua) — A fire broke out in a two-story private home in the Yakut village of Suntar. Firefighters found five dead while extinguishing the fire, TASS reported on Friday.

The victims included three children and two adults. The fire spread over an area of 24 square meters. Six firefighters and two units of local fire equipment were called in to extinguish the blaze.

Emergency Ministry investigators and a task force are working at the scene. The Nyurba Interdistrict Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) has launched a procedural investigation into the discovery of the bodies.
