JIUQUAN, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) — China successfully launched a new satellite into space from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China on Tuesday.

The Tianhui-7 satellite was launched at 12:12 PM Beijing Time aboard a Long March-4B launch vehicle. The satellite successfully entered its designated orbit.

The Tianhui-7 satellite is mainly designed for mapping geological information, land resource census, and conducting scientific experiments and research.

The current flight mission was the 622nd for the Long March series launch vehicles. -0-
