Beijing, December 30 (Xinhua) — The final round of the 5th A.I. Herzen Cup 2025 SCO Meeting Russian Language Competition was held on December 28 at Shandong Normal University in Jinan, the capital of Shandong Province, east China, according to the official website of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shandong Provincial People's Government.
A total of approximately 2,000 students from more than 200 universities and high schools across 20 provincial-level regions in China participated in the competition. Following fierce competition among both university and high school students, five students received first-category prizes, while 10 and 15 students received second- and third-category prizes.
The Russian language competition, the "SCO Meeting Cup," established in 2020, provides important human and intellectual support for the development of the SCO, particularly in strengthening Shandong Province's cooperation with Russia in education, culture, and other areas, as well as in promoting the province's greater openness to the outside world, the statement noted.
The current competition was jointly organized by the China/Shandong/-Russia Alliance for International Educational Cooperation and the International Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature (MAPRYAL) under the leadership of the Foreign Affairs Office of the CPC of Shandong Province, the Education Department of the same province, and other departments and organizations. -0-
