NANJING, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) — The People's Liberation Army's Eastern Zone Combat Command (PLA ECCC) is sending its naval and air forces to conduct patrols around Taiwan Island to check the troops' combat readiness, ECCC spokesman Shi Yi said Monday.
According to him, ships and planes are approaching the island of Taiwan from different directions.
Shi Yi stressed that this move is aimed at testing the troops' ability to conduct rapid maneuvers, form a multi-dimensional group, and carry out system blockade and control. -0-
