ISTANBUL, Dec. 28 (Xinhua) — Five people were killed and six others injured in a traffic accident in Istanbul, local authorities said Sunday.
According to a statement from the Istanbul Governor's Office, the accident occurred on Saturday evening in the Esenyurt district on the European side of the city when a minibus overturned due to heavy rain and slippery roads.
Firefighters, police, and medical crews were dispatched to the scene. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals, two of whom are in critical condition, the administration reported.
