Dakar, December 24 (Xinhua) – Twelve bodies were found Wednesday morning off the coast of Joal-Fadiouth, Mbour department, western Senegal, after a boat carrying migrants capsized, the Senegalese Press Agency (APS) reported.
According to APS, citing sources in the security forces, the death toll remains preliminary. Thirty-five survivors have been handed over to the local gendarmerie for investigation.
It is noted that the total number of passengers on board the ship has not yet been established, as has the cause of its crash, which occurred around 05:00 local time. –0–
