Special Military Operation (SVO) veterans who were treated in Moscow hospitals and their families were given guided tours of Moscow and the surrounding region, with professional guides showing them the main historical landmarks. From September 2024 to December 2025, a total of 60 tours were conducted for 1,131 people.
The SVO veterans and their families visited churches in Moscow and the surrounding region, attended a concert in the village of Fyodor Konyukhov in the Tula region, and took part in sightseeing bus tours of the capital and boat rides on the Moscow River.
The program also included trips to the Nativity of the Theotokos Monastery in Rozhdestvenka and the Church of the Intercession of the Holy Theotokos in Yasenevo, the Intercession Khotkov Monastery in the village of Khotkovo, the Nikolo-Berlyukovsky Monastery in the village of Avdotyino, the Spaso-Borodinsky Monastery in Semenovskoye, and others.
In addition, the service members and their families visited the "Pride Land" lion park in Klin, visited the Pokrovsky Stavropegic Convent, where the relics of Saint Matrona of Moscow are kept, and toured the main cathedral of the Russian Armed Forces in Patriot Park.
This free educational project was created to organize and conduct excursions and trips for veterans of the Soviet Military District undergoing treatment and rehabilitation in Moscow hospitals, and their families.
The project is being implemented by Mosturism in collaboration with the Central Clinical Hospital of St. Alexis, Metropolitan of Moscow of the Moscow Patriarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church, Branch No. 2 of the Central Military Clinical Hospital named after A.A. Vishnevsky, the state fund for the support of participants in the special military operation "Defenders of the Fatherland" and its regional branches.
There are about 500 excursions in Moscow every day. Tourism Committee Provides comprehensive support to the city's excursion community. Tour guides and guide-interpreters are certified in a convenient online format, and industry representatives are also invited to tour unique city attractions that are closed to the general public. Guides are instrumental in forming tourists' first impressions of the capital. To promote the profession, the "Show Moscow!" competition is being held.
