Phnom Penh, December 23 (Xinhua) — As of Tuesday morning, the Thai Armed Forces continue to use artillery and tank machine guns to fire at numerous targets in Cambodia, Deputy Secretary of State and Cambodian Ministry of Defense Spokesperson Lieutenant General Mali Socheata said at a briefing on Tuesday.

The death toll among Cambodian civilians has risen to 21, she reported. "Thai troops attacked areas where Cambodian civilians were living, resulting in the death of 21 civilians, including one infant, and the wounding of 83 others as of 6:00 p.m. on December 22," Mali Socheata said.

The border conflict between Cambodia and Thailand resumed on December 7. Both sides blame each other for the fighting.
