Kyiv, December 21 (Xinhua) — Portugal may participate in a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine if such a mission is deployed. Portuguese Prime Minister Luís Montenegro announced this at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv on Saturday, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
L. Montenegro emphasized that Portuguese military personnel can be deployed on Ukrainian territory only after the armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine ends. They will provide security alongside troops from other European countries, such as Latvia and Lithuania.
The Portuguese Prime Minister arrived in Kyiv earlier on Saturday. –0–
