Beijing, December 19 (Xinhua) — China Railways (CR) announced Friday that freight traffic will grow in 2025. Nearly 3.73 billion tons of freight were transported in the first 11 months of 2025, up 2.7 percent year-on-year.

In 2025, the KZhD's advantages in logistics became more obvious, helping to reduce logistics costs in the country and ensure the stable functioning of the national economy, the corporation stated.

They noted the accelerated pace of development of a modern railway logistics system, active efforts to customize services in response to diverse needs, and strengthened cooperation with customs services and foreign partners to improve the efficiency of cross-border transportation.

According to the corporation, 31,200 trains were dispatched on international China-Europe/China-Central Asia rail freight routes from January to November 2025, 9 percent more than the previous year. In particular, in November, the number of trains dispatched increased by 21 percent to 1,852, setting a new monthly record.

In turn, during this period, the volume of freight traffic on the China-Laos railway increased by 15 percent to 4.98 million tons. -0-
