New York, December 18 (Xinhua) — The U.S. consumer price index (CPI) increased 2.7 percent year-on-year in November, according to data released Thursday by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The corresponding figure was below market expectations of 3.1 percent and the 3 percent growth recorded in September.

According to the agency, the core CPI, which does not take into account volatile food and energy prices, fell to 2.6 percent year-on-year in November.

The November inflation report does not reflect changes from the previous month due to the lack of information for October 2025. The October CPI data release was cancelled due to the temporary suspension of data collection during the recent U.S. government shutdown. –0–
