Moscow, December 18 (Xinhua) — Two people were killed on board a cargo ship in the port of Rostov-on-Don due to a drone attack, Rostov Region Governor Yuri Slyusar announced on his Telegram channel on Thursday.

According to him, the attack caused a fire on the vessel covering an area of 20 square meters. Two crew members on board were killed and three others were injured. A fuel spill on the tanker was prevented, Rostov-on-Don Mayor Alexander Skryabin previously reported.

On Thursday night, drone attacks in the Rostov region targeted Rostov-on-Don, Bataysk, and Taganrog, reported Yury Slyusar. Seven people were injured in Bataysk, one of whom died in the hospital.
