Tbilisi, December 18 (Xinhua) — Georgia's international tourism revenue reached a record $3.6 billion in the first three quarters of 2025, up 5.1 percent year-on-year, according to official data.

As Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Irakli Nadareishvili noted at a meeting with tourism industry representatives on Thursday, the Georgian tourism industry maintains stable growth dynamics and plays an important role in the country's socio-economic development.

I. Nadareishvili stated that tourism is one of the most inclusive sectors of the economy, contributing to the development of regions, small and micro-entrepreneurs, and employment growth.

According to him, the tourism sector accounts for approximately 10 percent of the country's GDP and provides approximately 9 percent of jobs, accounting for nearly 60 percent of service exports. "In recent years, Georgia has strengthened its position on the global tourism map and has received international recognition as an attractive destination," he emphasized.

The Deputy Minister also emphasized the importance of diversifying the industry and developing related sectors, including aviation. Currently, more than 70 airlines operate in Georgia, flying to over 120 direct international destinations.
