Tbilisi, December 17 (Xinhua) — Georgia has opened a new eight-kilometer, four-lane section of the Lanchkhuti-Lesa highway on the Samtredia-Grigoleti expressway, becoming a key element in modernizing the country's transport network and enhancing regional integration. The Georgian Ministry of Infrastructure announced this on Wednesday.

The modern four-lane road, which includes three new bridges and two transport hubs, was opened by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and the country's Minister of Infrastructure Revaz Sokhadze.

I. Kobakhidze emphasized the importance of the project in terms of reducing congestion in the city of Lanchkhuti and surrounding villages, noting that the opening of the new section of the highway means a reduction in noise levels and increased safety for the local population, as well as a reduction in travel time and increased comfort for passengers. –0–
