BEIJING, December 16 (Xinhua) — Expanding domestic demand will be China's top economic policy priority in 2026, a spokesperson for the Office of the Central Financial and Economic Affairs Commission said.
Explaining the spirit of the decisions taken at the Central Economic Work Conference held in Beijing last week, a department representative told Xinhua and other media that next year, measures will be taken to stimulate consumption on both the supply and demand sides, taking into account structural changes in the country's consumption patterns.
In addition, efforts will be made to stabilize investment and halt its downward trend in order to improve the well-being of the population and strengthen long-term growth momentum.
“All the conditions are in place to achieve sustainable growth in domestic demand next year through the coordination of investment and consumption, as well as synergy between the government and the market,” the agency representative emphasized. –0–
