The final stage of the first Open All-Russian Technology Olympiad in Robotics, "From Code to Takeoff," has begun in Moscow. The competition is taking place from December 16 to 22 at the Federal Center for Unmanned Aircraft Systems in the Rudnevo Industrial Park. The Moscow city's press service reported this. "The finals of the Open All-Russian Technology Olympiad in Robotics, 'From Code to Takeoff,' is a special event for schoolchildren who have passed a rigorous selection process. They will also program mobile robots that will carry out autonomous missions at a testing ground. Over 300 high school students from Moscow will participate in the competition. Olympiad winners will receive preferential admission to Russia's top technical universities, ranging from admission without exams or credit for an additional test, to a score of 100 on the Unified State Exam," the department's press service reported.

The competition will open on December 16, and on December 17, the students will begin solving the first theoretical problems. From December 18 to 20, participants will complete practical round tasks in two areas: unmanned aerial vehicles and mobile robotics. They will configure drones and develop algorithms for autonomous flight, including obstacle avoidance and tag recognition.

Additionally, the students will program mobile robots that will perform basic autonomous navigation, obstacle avoidance, object recognition, and optimal route planning in changing conditions. Depending on their chosen track, finalists will also face electronics-related challenges.

In addition to the competition, participants will enjoy educational, cultural, and entertainment programs, as well as a technological showcase of engineering achievements. The awards ceremony will take place on December 22.

Along with Moscow high school students, students from more than 20 regions of Russia, including the Leningrad, Novosibirsk, Nizhny Novgorod, and Kaliningrad regions, as well as the republics of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan, are competing for victory.

The Open All-Russian Technology Olympiad in Robotics, "From Code to Takeoff," is part of the Moscow School Olympiad in Robotics, which has been held since 2015. Winning the competition provides preferential admission to leading Russian technical universities, including Bauman Moscow State Technical University, National University of Science and Technology MISIS, and National Research University Higher School of Economics.
