BEIJING, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) — The unemployment rate in China's cities and towns was 5.1 percent in November 2025, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Monday.
According to the data, this figure for the first 11 months of this year was 5.2 percent.
Employment among key population groups remained generally stable. In November, the unemployment rate among rural migrant workers was 4.4 percent, below the national average.
China's economy performed generally well in November, National Bureau of Statistical Services (NBS) spokesman Fu Linghui said at a press conference, adding that the next phase will focus on stabilizing employment, businesses, the market, and expectations.
China's 2025 targets call for more than 12 million new jobs to be created in cities and towns to keep the unemployment rate below 5.5 percent by the end of the year. -0-
