GUANGZHOU, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) — Wang Bingqian, a former State Councilor and vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), was cremated Sunday in Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province.
He died of illness at the age of 100 in Guangdong Province on December 8.
Xi Jinping, Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, Li Xi, Han Zheng, Hu Jintao and other officials either visited Wang Bingqian during his hospital stay or expressed deep sorrow and condolences to his family in various forms after his death.
Zhao Leji, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, joined others in bidding farewell to Wang Bingqian at a funeral home in Guangzhou. -0-
