BEIJING, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) — Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, and Somali Foreign Minister Abdisalam Abdi Ali exchanged congratulatory messages on Sunday to mark the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
In his message, Wang Yi noted that in recent years, China and Somalia have continuously strengthened political mutual trust, supported each other on issues related to their core interests and concerns, and steadily developed cooperation in various fields.
Wang Yi said he is ready to work with the Somali Foreign Minister to implement the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and promote the further development of China-Somalia relations and cooperation in various fields.
In turn, the Somali Foreign Minister noted that his country firmly adheres to the one-China principle and is ready to deepen bilateral cooperation with China within the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the Belt and Road Initiative for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries. –0–
