Birobidzhan, Russia, December 13, Xinhua — An international educational forum featuring representatives from various Chinese provinces will become a permanent fixture in Russia's Jewish Autonomous Region (JAR). Yevgeny Guzman, Deputy Chairman of the JAR Government, recently announced this in an exclusive interview with Xinhua.
"This year, for the first time, the Jewish Autonomous Region hosted a large-scale International Educational Forum, which will become a permanent fixture in the region. Representatives from various provinces, including Heilongjiang Province, were guests and active participants. Bilateral cooperation agreements were signed with professional educational organizations and colleges in China," said E. Guzman.
"In February-March 2026, the Jewish Autonomous Region will host a major professional skills championship among students from various colleges and technical schools across ten competencies. We have already received confirmation of the participation of students and teachers, experts, and instructors from China in this competition," the Deputy Prime Minister of the Jewish Autonomous Region shared.
According to him, this is “not just about exchanging practices,” but about closer cooperation in terms of exchanging competencies between teaching staff and students, and about mutual participation in professional excellence competitions.
"We are members of the Russian-Chinese Union of Professional Education, founded by the Khabarovsk Institute for Education Development and the Harbin Polytechnic Institute," noted E. Guzman. "Educational programs are being merged, faculty exchanges are taking place, and competitive competitions are held to identify the best." This is of interest to both sides, the agency's source asserted.
At the same time, in his opinion, the impressive development of educational and, in general, humanitarian ties between the two countries puts on the agenda a very important issue of the need to align personnel training systems and Russian educational standards with Chinese standards. –0–
