Birobidzhan, Russia, December 13, Xinhua — Russia's Jewish Autonomous Region (JAR) is seeking to develop mutually beneficial partnerships with Chinese companies. Acting Deputy Chairman of the JAR Government, Mikhail Yurkin, recently stated this in an exclusive interview with Xinhua.

"The Jewish Autonomous Region is committed to close, mutually beneficial trade and economic partnerships with Chinese companies. This primarily applies to agriculture, logistics, mining, and tourism," said M. Yurkin.

He emphasized that China's technological development is impressive. "This vector of mutually beneficial areas and projects will continue to develop," predicts M. Yurkin.

"We have established friendly relations with Liaoning Province," he added. "At the Eastern Economic Forum in 2024, a cooperation agreement was signed between Liaoning Province and the Jewish Autonomous Region."

In accordance with agreements signed with Chinese partner companies from various provinces, a soybean and corn deep processing plant, as well as a motorcycle manufacturing plant, are planned to be built in the Jewish Autonomous Region. A transportation and logistics agreement has been signed for a volume of approximately 10 million tons per year.

The acting deputy head of the Jewish Autonomous Region government noted with satisfaction that, according to surveys of Chinese businesses, “the Jewish Autonomous Region, along with the Amur Region and the Moscow Region, has held first place in the ranking of the most favorable conditions for doing Chinese business” in Russia for the third year running. –0–
