BEIJING, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) — An event dedicated to cultural exchanges between Chinese and Russian teenagers was held at Harbin Normal University in Northeast China's Heilongjiang Province on Thursday, in which participants from China and Russia learned about each other's cultures, Partners magazine reported.
The event, entitled "Together with Partners – Towards Mutual Enrichment of Cultures," was attended by teachers and students from Secondary School No. 62 and the Vladivostok International Youth Exchange Center, as well as teachers and students from the Institute of Slavic Languages at Harbin Normal University.
The event not only helped build a bridge of friendship between teenagers from the two countries, but also deepened their understanding of each other's cultures through diverse cultural exchanges.
At the event, teenagers presented New Year's traditions from their countries. Chinese students discussed the origins of the Spring Festival (Chunjie, Lunar New Year), holiday rituals, and wishes, while Russian schoolchildren shared their country's New Year's traditions and dishes.
Additionally, as part of the artistic performance, students from China performed traditional and modern Russian songs, and Russian teachers and students invited everyone to join in a joyful round dance, which, thanks to its rhythm and harmony, became the highlight of the event.
This event was organized by the magazine “Partners” jointly with the Institute of Slavic Languages of Harbin Normal University. -0-
