Rabat, December 10 (Xinhua) — At least 19 people were killed and 16 others injured on Tuesday evening when two buildings collapsed in the city of Fez, Morocco, the country's state news agency reported.
The first building gradually collapsed around 11:00 PM local time (22:00 GMT) in the El Mustaqbal neighborhood on the outskirts of Fez. Moments later, a second, adjacent four-story building collapsed.
According to local authorities, emergency services, police, firefighters, ambulance crews, and disaster relief units quickly arrived at the scene to carry out rescue operations.
