Kyiv, December 10 (Xinhua) — Ukraine will be ready to hold elections in 60-90 days, provided the United States and European countries ensure the security of the vote. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on Tuesday, Interfax-Ukraine reported.
"I personally have the will and readiness for this," V. Zelensky told reporters.
He noted that, although the United States is not yet ready for Ukraine to join NATO, negotiations are ongoing to provide the country with stable security guarantees.
According to V. Zelensky, Ukraine and the United States are considering provisions for bilateral security guarantees in the updated 20-point peace plan, similar to Article 5 of the NATO Washington Treaty. –0–
