The winter charity festival has concluded in the capital. City of the CaringIt took place on December 6th and 7th at Bolotnaya Square in the "Gift Factory" art pavilion of the "Made in Moscow" project. The festival attracted over 30,000 visitors.
“Muscovites and visitors to the capital made New Year’s decorations, bought gifts at a charity fair, participated in charitable activities, and supported foundation initiatives,” she noted.
Ekaterina Dragunova, Chairman of the City Committee for Public Relations and Youth Policy.
Gifts with a story
The main event was a fair featuring handmade goods. More than 20 non-profit organizations (NPOs) presented their products, including the Gulf Stream, Downside Up, Children of Maria, and Kotodetki foundations. Their stalls featured knitted toys, jewelry, ceramics, soap, and clothing made by their wards and volunteers. All proceeds from sales will go to help those in need: children with serious illnesses, the elderly, low-income families, and shelter animals.
Among the fair's participants is the "Art of Being Nearby" foundation, which helps people with autism. The foundation operates a workshop where its residents learn various crafts. Especially for the festival, they made scented candles and aromatherapy sachets, scrapbooking cards, and even made soap.
"We're always happy to participate in charity fairs because they're so important for our beneficiaries. Giving them the opportunity to create, receiving feedback from visitors, and raising awareness about autism to as many people as possible helps make their lives independent and promising. We'll use the proceeds from the sales to develop our workshop so our beneficiaries can further develop their work skills," noted Svetlana Shifrina, Director of the Art of Being Nearby Foundation.
The fair also featured Christmas tree decorations made of epoxy resin, ceramics, and wood, plush toys, and decor created by people with disabilities from the "House Under the Sun" daycare center run by the "Lifestyle" Foundation. The organization has been collaborating with orphanages and social institutions housing people with disabilities for over 15 years.
Elena Beregovaya, director of the Lifestyle Foundation, explained that each piece is more than just a decoration, but a story of development and social adaptation. And all the items sold represent a belief in one's own strength and potential.

DIY souvenirs, the "Kind Christmas Tree" campaign, shows, and more
At the festival's workshops, organized by foundations, city residents had the opportunity to make their own New Year's crafts. For example, children and adults learned to paint on fabric with volunteers from the "Vera. Nadezhda. Lyubov" resource center for people with mental disabilities, and decorated candles with representatives of the Pravmir foundation. At a workshop run by the "Art of Being Nearby" foundation, they created holiday cards, and at a workshop run by the "Little Big Man" organization, they sewed Tilda dolls. The finished crafts were available to take home. Over the course of two days, more than 40 workshops were held for Muscovites.
An important part of the festival was a charity event. "Kind Christmas Tree"A tree decorated with balloons bearing the cherished wishes of NGO beneficiaries, including children of special military operation participants, was erected at the site. Festival attendees brought board games to a special "Movement of Good" box for military personnel currently undergoing treatment in hospitals.
Outdoor activities were also prepared for visitors, including a photo zone for those who wanted to take memorable holiday photos, a snow shooting range, and bowling. The ice show—a magical performance on the skating rink—was a particular highlight. Festival guests also took part in a quest dedicated to the capital's good deeds and won prizes.
