BEIJING, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) — From 2021 to date, 856,000 tons of fruits and vegetables, worth 1.75 billion yuan (about 247 million U.S. dollars), have been exported from China to Mongolia through the Ereenhot Port of North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, according to a statement posted on the official website of the Ereenhot City Hall.

During the specified period of time, more than 20 types of vegetables, such as cabbage and bell peppers, as well as over 10 types of fruits, including apples and bananas, were delivered to the Mongolian market through the Ereen Hot road checkpoint.

Ereenhot is the largest land border crossing between China and Mongolia. Its unique geographical advantages have made it an important hub for fruit and vegetable shipments from China to Mongolia. Fruits and vegetables exported through it meet 80 percent of Mongolia's needs for these products.
