Beijing, December 9 (Xinhua) — The 2nd China-Russia International Chamber Music Festival was held in Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang Province, northeast China, from December 7 to 8, the Zhongxinwang news website reported on Tuesday.

The festival was jointly organized by the Harbin Conservatory of Music and the Chinese-Russian Musical Union. It featured musicians from China, Russia, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.

The festival included two concerts, 17 public master classes, and two expert lectures attended by students from China, Russia, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Cambodia, Nepal, Algeria, and other countries.

In recent years, China and Russia have maintained close cooperation in music, sports, and other fields. Leveraging its geographical advantage as a neighbor to Russia, Heilongjiang Province has made active efforts to promote stronger Chinese-Russian exchanges and cooperation in these areas.

“We will take this festival as an opportunity to improve the quality of Chinese-Russian cooperation by harnessing the unique charm of music, and to make music an important link in deepening mutual understanding between Chinese and foreigners,” the Harbin Conservatory of Music noted. -0-
