UN, December 5 (Xinhua) — UN Secretary-General António Guterres welcomed the formal signing of the Peace and Prosperity Agreement between the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Rwanda, according to a statement from his spokesman, Stéphane Dujarric.

The head of the world organization emphasized that the agreement represents an important step towards restoring trust between the DRC and Rwanda and advancing efforts to achieve lasting peace in eastern DRC, noted S. Dujarric.
