Yerevan, December 5 /Xinhua/ — Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with British Secretary of State for Defence Vernon Cocker on Friday, the press service of the Armenian prime minister reported.
N. Pashinyan noted that active dialogue has recently been established between Armenia and the United Kingdom, and an extensive bilateral agenda has been developed. The Armenian government attaches great importance to high-level reciprocal visits, which provide new impetus to the consistent expansion of ties.
V. Cocker emphasized that elevating relations with Armenia to the level of strategic partnership will facilitate the development of multilateral ties and the implementation of joint programs. He expressed his readiness to continue close dialogue with Armenia to expand and develop cooperation, including in the areas of military education and cybersecurity.
The parties also discussed the situation in the region. V. Coker expressed confidence that peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan will contribute to stability and the development of cooperation in the region.
