BUDAPEST, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) — Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Friday that the country seeks to avoid involvement in any financial mechanisms related to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
V. Orbán made the statement while commenting on discussions held in Belgium among European Union leaders about the possible use of frozen Russian assets to allocate a reparations loan to Ukraine.
“We do not intend to allocate funds or participate in this conflict,” the prime minister emphasized on national radio station Kossuth Radio.
V. Orban noted that the discussions between European leaders could significantly impact both the EU's financial support for Ukraine and the broader course of the conflict in the coming months. –0–
