Construction of a 150-meter overpass over the Second Moscow Central Diameter (MCD-2) railway tracks continues in the capital, as part of the fifth section of the Solntsevo-Butovo-Varshavskoye Shosse highway. The superstructure has been fully extended, and construction workers have begun reinforcing the future reinforced concrete slab. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Development Policy and Construction. Vladimir Efimov.
"The overpass over the MCD-2 tracks, currently under construction as part of Section 5 of the Solntsevo-Butovo-Varshavskoe Shosse highway, will be built between Novobutovskaya Street and Varshavskoe Shosse. It will be 150 meters long and 24 meters wide. The overpass will have four lanes, two in each direction. Four retaining walls and two retaining walls have been constructed as part of the ramps on the eastern and western sides. The reinforcement for the reinforced concrete slab is currently being prepared, after which the first section will be concreted. The overall project is already 70 percent complete. Completion of the overpass is scheduled for next year," noted Vladimir Efimov.

"The overpass superstructure is made of composite steel and reinforced concrete, with a reinforced concrete roadway slab. It consists of 15 metal blocks. The superstructure was assembled on a slipway and slid onto the supports from the western side in several stages during temporary openings provided by the railway workers. The assembled superstructure metal weighs 1,400 tons, and the volume of the reinforced concrete roadway slab is nearly 1,200 cubic meters. This structure will improve traffic conditions in the south of the capital, providing convenient access to the highway from Varshavskoe Shosse from the regional side and from Rastorguevskoe Shosse," added the head of the Moscow Department of Construction of Transport and Engineering Infrastructure.
